Good Day.

Premise of the infrastructure

SERVER A: 192.168.1.10 (Windows Server 2022 Std)
SERVER B: 192.168.1.4 (Windows Server 2022 Std)

Veeam Backup & Replication is installed on Server B.

I added both servers under Infrastructure > Managed Servers in Veeam.

When I start a replication job from Server B, I receive the following error:

Error: Target proxy 192.168.1.4 requires Veeam components upgrade.

Here are all the troubleshooting steps I tried, with no success:

Disabled Windows Firewall on both servers

Forced a components rescan from Veeam on Server B

Uninstalled Veeam and manually deleted all Veeam folders

    Reinstalled Veeam

    Removed version VeeamBackup&Replication_12.3.2.3617

    Reinstalled version VeeamBackup&Replication_12.3.1.1139

The error occurs probably server still has components from a newer version (12.3.2), while the Veeam server is running an older version (12.3.1). This version mismatch causes incompatibility, and the components need to be downgraded or reinstalled properly.

Thanks for your interest.
For each test I removed all the components and searched manually (and eliminated) all the veeam files residual from traffic.

At the end of the upgrade did you check the box to upgrade components automatically? Did that process complete without errors?

When I made Rescan for updating the components, no error is shown.

On both servers in add / remove programs do the version numbers match up?

If nothing obvious stands out I would recommend logging a support ticket

Hi @gigaworld - Welcome to the Community!

The error is sharing pretty much what’s going on really...as others have noted.

What server are you using for your target Proxy for your Repllication job? Did you try to uninstall Veeam components (e.g. Transport and Installer services) on it, then manually reinstall the newer version of the services from the following directory on the VBR server?
C:\Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication\Backup\Packages

Try that and let us know how it goes. If that doesn’t work, then a Support case is needed here as Mark points out.

As stated version numbers need to match.  I have found some items in the add/remove programs list there might be something older and removed it.   Then rescan the server in Veeam and it updates.

Otherwise open a support ticket.

I eliminated all the packages again and manually removed everything it was
Still residue of "Veeam on SERVER A".

I managed to solve, thanks to everyone for the help.
