detailed backup report

Guys, i have old veeam server running. I need a detailed backup report which contains - server name\object name, backup start time , data retention, storage(disk\tape), tape number etcVeeam version 9.5, PS version 5.1.1 any script or commands to run this would be helpful. Veeam one reporter not working.

Timeout issue with Proxmox VE backups

I am experiencing a strange issue with Veeam BR and Proxmox VE.The Proxmox VE backups have been working successfully for the past 6 Months.Recently we added an extra network adapter to the Veeam BR host to provide access to another VLAN.Since the addition of the extra network adapter the Proxmox VE backups have been failing.When I run a test on the Proxmox Worker it fails because of a timeout after 300000 Milliseconds (5 Mins).It is not the specific adapter that is the problem I can remove one of the other adapters and the test and backups work.I have tried to adjust timeouts in the appsettings.json file but no success there.From what I can see in the logs it is trying to connect to a backup appliance endpoint.The endpoint it trying to get to is at 192.168.1.161 but when all four adapters are in play that address is the last one in line and it times out before it gets there.I haven’t raised a support case with Veeam yet, just though I would see if anyone has experienced anything simila

Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 Restore Points Missing

Hello,Yesterday I had to re-install Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365.  I now lost my ability to restore from previous backups.  When I try to do a test restore, I can only choose backups from yesterday.  Is there a way to fix this?

Veeam Service Monitoring

Hi allWe have multiple installations of Veeam and some of them have all roles on the same server (Backup, Proxy, Mount and so on), some roles are distributed on others servers. Some installations have PostgreSQL and some have MSSQL. Has anyone a idea how to get the installed roles on a server (registry, folders) so we can choose which service to monitor on which server. Additionally is there an overview of which service belong to which role? Thanks,Dario

Veeam backup & replication 12.3 Installation failed

I am attempting to upgrade Veeam backup and replication but I get an installation failure. Error    Failed to start service 'Veeam Backup Service' after installing package VeeamBackupSvc.msiError    MSI package: VeeamBackupSvc.msi returned error code: 1603What could be causing the service start failure and m.si error code 1603?

Promox Worker installieren

Ich versuche in unserem Proxmox Cluster den Worker zu installieren, in dem ich das aus der Veeam Console entsprechend starte.Ich habe keinen eigenen Linux Client oder ähnliches installiert, das soll alles direkt von Veeam kommen, wie es auch gewünscht und gefordert ist.Promox ist aktuell, Veeam auch.Dennoch erhalte ich den Fehler:Failed to deploy the worker VM: Cannot access a closed Stream.Worker *Name* test failed: Cannot access al closed Stream. Porst sollten soweit offen sein, keine Chance es fertig zu stellen.Was ist hier mein Fehler? Andere Proxys, für VMWare gingen ohne probleme.DankeAndreas

Adding Licenses to Veeam Backup for 365

I need to add an additional 35 licenses to Veeam for 365 and I have acquired the .lic file. The Update button in the Veeam License Information window does not allow me to add licenses, nor does it detect additional licenses. I was going to try just clicking the Install button and browsing to the file, but I am concerned it may overwrite the existing license file and not just add licenses to it. Can anyone confirm this is the correct method? Or should I be adding these licenses with another method? The email with my license file did not have instructions, only a link for support if I need assistance.

Failed to stop service ‘VeeamRESTSvc'.

Hi, I’m planning to upgrade VBR towards 12.3 and facing an issue regarding Failed to stop service ‘VeeamRESTSvc'. with the below commands i try to stop the service get-service veeambackuprestsvc | stop-service -force But it not impact on VBR server as well.  All services are stopped but not impact did any one face this issue during upgrade?

SQL Backup Not Offloading to Azure Blob (Cool Tier)

 Hi Veeam Team,I'm using the Veeam Backup Plug-in for Microsoft SQL Server and trying to offload SQL full backups to Azure Blob Storage (Cool tier) via SOBR, but I don't see any offload happening.Here's my setup:- Veeam B&R: Latest Version - SQL Plug-in installed and working on SSMS.- Full backup (not Copy Only) created from the SQL plug-in.- The backup target is a SOBR that includes:   - Performance Tier: Data Domain   - Capacity Tier: Azure Blob (Cool)   - Archive Tier: Azure Archive- The SOBR has "Copy backups to object storage as soon as they are created" enabled- I verified the job runs and stores the backup on the Performance Tier (Data Domain), but **nothing appears in Azure Blob**- No entries under History > System > Capacity Tier I checked the Azure container and can't find any `.vbk` files. I also can't confirm if Veeam is sending anything to Azure at all.Is there something specific with the SQL Plug-in + SOBR that prevents offload?  Do Copy Only or SQL Agent jobs b

Veeam Agent Free: Bezeichnungen der Sicherungsordner!?

Hallo!Mir war bisher gar nicht aufgefallen, dass Veeam anscheinend mit jedem neuen Update einen neuen Ordner anzulegen!? Oder wie kommt es zustande, dass ich jetzt mehrere Ordner habe, aber davon nur Einer der aktuell benutzte ist?Ich habe jetzt vier Ordner:BackupBackup_1Backup_2Backup_old Backup_2 ist der aktuell genutzte. Denn dort liegt das Full Backup und die danach erzeugten inkrementellen Backups.

Data Domain immutability and retention lock

Hi guys, I have a question regarding the immutability in the data domain, I have a Job ( 7 days (short retention policy) and weekly for 7 weeks) I configured the retention lock with 6 days min and 14 day max and on Veeam side I set the immutability to 7 days What is going to happen in that case for both short retention backup and GFS backup ?

Veeam Backup Upload Behavior to Azure Blob Storage

Hello,I have a question regarding how Veeam uploads backup files to Azure Blob Storage, and I’m a bit confused by the behavior. I believe the documentation might not be fully accurate or clear on this point.Here’s the scenario: I created an Azure Storage Account and set the default access tier to Hot. I also created a container inside that storage account. On the Veeam side, I configured an Azure object storage repository, and I left the "Use cool blob storage tier (may result in higher cost)" checkbox unchecked. Use cool blob storage tier  My First question is: In this case, what access tier does Veeam use when uploading backup files to the container? Will the backups be uploaded with the Hot tier (as per the storage account default), or does Veeam explicitly set a tier regardless of the default?My Second question is: same scenario but with default access tier (Azure Side) set to Cool.My Third question is: same scenario but with default access tier (Azure Side) set to Cold.

open a case page broken?

I was trying to open a case. First, “I need support for:” is just a spinning circle. “Product Version” doesn’t have any entries. It seemed to let me go through the rest of the form, but when I hit submit, I get: Something went wrong.We're having technical issues.Stay calm - our IT team is already solving the problem.I’m not sure if there’s really a problem, or if the issue is that I’m asking for support for the community edition (which I read can happen on a best effort basis). Is this supposed to work? Thanks

Some of my virtual Linux Server are unabel to backup. The job ends with the following error: Error: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.Asynchronous request operation has failed. [requestsize = 327680] [offset = 2509897728]Failed to download disk '<SERVER>.vmdk'.Shared memory connection was closed.Failed to upload disk '>'Agent failed to process method {DataTransfer.SyncDisk}.and:Processing <SERVER> Error: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.Asynchronous request operation has failed. Neues Repo Move failed

Hallo Zusammen,uns ist der Speicherplatz auf einem unserer Repos ausgegangen und leider können wir das Repo nicht erweitern. Also haben wir ein neues Repo erstellt und an Veeam angebunden. Jetzt möchten wir die Backups auf das neue größere Repo verschieben, was weniger gut funktioniert. Wir bekommen bei fast alle Jobs die Fehlermeldung: ”Failed Updating configuration database records Error: Failed to import new backups“. In den Log-Files finden wir dazu nichts.Hat jemand eine Idee? GrüßeThomas

Snapshots content is replicated x3 with rook cephFS

Hi, We have a rook-ceph cluster with FS pool which is replicated x3. With K10, when I run a policy to export pvc data outside the cluster, a snapshot is beforehand created, the content is exported and then the snapshot content is removed from FS pool. But the snapshot content is replicated x3 because of my CephFS production configuration.How do you guys manage this behavior… Any idea ? Maybe my process is not adequate ?

Changing Retention Settings and Preserving Existing Backups in VBM365

Hello,We currently have backup jobs configured in Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 (VBM365) with a retention period of 6 months.We would like to stop some of these backup jobs, while retaining the existing backup data for a period of one year.We have a few questions: If we change the retention policy of a job to one year and run a final backup, will the new retention period be applied to the previously backed-up data? If we disable the job after modifying the retention, will the new retention still be applied to the existing backups? Finally, could you please advise on the best way to ensure that our existing data is retained for one year, even after the backup jobs are stopped?Thank you in advance for your feedback.

problemi di performance con Nas Synology (NFS)

ciao, da un cliente ho un NAS SYNOLOGY 12BAY 2U DUAL CONTROLLER XEON D-1521 QC con dischi NL-SAS da 16TB, DSM 7.2.1-69057 utilizzato come repository. Ho adottato NFS come protocollo di accesso. La macchina funziona normalmente bene ma ho notato che in certi casi, specie se fa delle operazioni onerose di cancellazione di catene di backup, ha dei momenti di scarsa responsività che causano degli errori tipoError Failed to check if item exists: nfs41://192.168.3.6:/volume1/VeeamRepo/VeeamConfigBackup/POMVEEAM01basta aspettare che queste cancellazioni abbiano terminato e la cosa che era fallita va a buon fine.Ho cercato un po’ in giro alcuni spunti per l’ottimizzazione ma non li ho trovati. In particolare cercavo suggerimenti se disabilitare il “cestino”  e riguardo a questa impostazione nfs ogni suggerimento è benvenutissimo 😊

Add VBR to each Site

At several of our enterprise customers having a local VBR to each site is required.  It would be cool if you could select which sites require a VBR in the “Environment“ tab and where the centralized management components would live.  Then export all this to Gen AI to create architectural drawings ;)

Why does Create Recovery Media need precise location???

Installed Windows agent on my new Windows 11 machine, then went into “Create Recovery Media”.I could not complete it without giving Veeam precise location access, which seems really...odd.And it does not appear that it actually did access my location.Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows 6.3.2.1205 - Free Edition
